There was a time when my brother and I would head out to the LA County Fair just to see Lifehouse (a rock band that got started in Los Angeles) perform. I don't know if they still do, but the band seemingly performed there every year. I can recall at least 2 different summers attending, and one reason why I can remember is because we would coincidentally bump into some friends - a couple that would later get married (Davy & Steph).
I didn't record this video recording, but I'm pretty sure we were in attendance that particular year in 2007 (based off the time stamp on the photo I took from my cellphone, and dated internet articles of the Lifehouse concert). Figured I'd give you a glimpse of one of our activities together. I do recall watching from the horse racetrack bleachers. To be perfectly honest, they didn't sound better live, but then again, the audio system was horrendous and the audience is loud, so I'll cut them some slack.

Lifehouse was a band the both of us loved listening to, ever since the song "Hanging by a Moment" became popular. We'd alternate in purchasing their CDs. We'd listen on car rides, and watch their music videos a lot. Rayson was probably inspired to play a few of their songs on his guitar as well.
On a side tangent, food is a staple whenever you go to the fair. Giant turkey legs, BBQ of all sorts, and junk food that should never be fried. One time I was soooo curious to try fried Oreos, and I eventually gave into the temptation. To my recollection, they came a set of 2-3. I couldn't even finish one. There's so much batter and so oily, I felt like my arteries was gonna explode! So rather than toss them, Rayson was a trooper and finished them off for me. Always was good to have someone like that around...
My girlfriend and I would take Rayson to the 2012 Fair during his cancer period, if only just to relive some of the food experiences. Not quite the same though, and certainly a challenge when navigating such a large place with someone so physically impaired as him.
